Overnight Camp Health Officer Opportunity at YMCA Camp Duncan!
YMCA Camp Duncan, like many Y programs, is about learning skills, developing character and making friends. The Overnight Camp Health Officer is a seasonal position. Under the direct supervision of the Camp Director, the Health Officer is responsible for proper health care and first aid for campers and staff.
Pay range starts at $1,500 bi-weekly, housing & meals provided

Scope and Responsibilities:
- Collect all campers and staff medication keep them locked up and dispense as directed.
- Perform a wellness check all campers & staff for communicable diseases, health problems, illnesses as directed in the written health procedures.
- Collect and file all camper and staff health forms.
- Maintain all first aid kits.
- Maintain standing order medication and report medication or supply needs to the camp director.
- Maintain daily treatment log.
- Be readily available for first aid emergencies and other contingencies.
- Secure proper treatment for campers and staff requiring a doctor's or hospital attention.
- Give a brief health check to campers leaving the camp property for overnight trips. Make sure accompanying staff members have necessary first aid information, daily and pm medication, first aid orientation and health forms.
- Contact parents of camper requiring physician's attention, overnight stay in health center or whenever is deemed necessary.
- Issue written health information to all staff of campers requiring medication and special allergies so that staff are aware.
- Report any incident to the camp director. All incident reports are filled out by camp director.
- Observe and advise camp director and staff on health, disease, sanitation and cleanliness issues.
Requirements:
- Must have a Bachelor's degree in Nursing or equivalent education experience
- Must be licensed by the state as a RN, EMT, or LP
- Must have current CPR and First Aid Certification
- Must have 1-3 years of nursing and/or related experience
- Prior camp experience is preferred

- Reporting any items that may provide a health or safety hazard to staff, members or guests to your supervisor
- Following all policies and procedures related to keeping children safe in our facilities and programs, including those related to the monitoring and supervision of children
- Reporting any suspicious behavior and violation of policy and procedures to your supervisor
- Completing all child abuse prevention training as required
