Under the supervision of the executive director, the Program Director is responsible for the supervision and management of Summer Camp, Retreats and Conferencing, and the Camp Store. This includes assisting with supervising the seasonal food service staff. Supervisory responsibilities include budget oversight and business development, staff management, program development and delivery, as well as safety/risk management of program departments and Camp Store revenue and expenses. The Program Director has lead responsibility for summer camp programming, delivery, and staff supervision. The Program Director serves as branch supervisor in the absence of the Executive Director.
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience in administrative roles within a camp setting.Experience in the development and delivery of programs and activities for a similar population.Experience with managing a team of staff.Demonstrated ability to multi-task and adapt to changing contexts and priorities.Knowledge of standards of food preparation and serving, storage of food, and kitchen procedures.Knowledge of and experience in preparation of special dietary foods including vegetarian.Ability to understand, adapt to, and interact with diverse people, teams, perspectives, and cultures.Certifications: CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer or equivalent, Basic First Aid (required), and ServSafe. Training can be provided upon hiring and must be obtained within 60 days.
