Essential Responsibilities:
- Support the Operations Coordinator with planning and facilitating special events (i.e. evening activities, weekly events, once a session all-day events) and field trips.
- Provide instructions to Generalist counselors and other staff.
- Promote events across camp, building excitement and interest.
- Set up and takedown all events with a support team, ensuring all supplies returned properly.
- Support the Program Team, including Program Head and Activity Coordinator, with various additional needs.
- Perform general clerical duties.
- Oversee the supply closets, ensuring tidiness and organization and alerting the Operations Coordinator when items need to be replenished.
- Assist with special project tasks as assigned.
- Driving Responsibilities:
- Periodically serve as the on-call staff member, ready to respond to any needs that may arise.
- Maintain accurate records of mileage and expenses related to driving duties.
- Ensure the safe and responsible operations of camp vehicles.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must pass Criminal Background Check.
- Valid driver's license and driving record approved by Chewonki's Insurance Carrier required, must attend Driver's Training.
- At least 21 years old (to drive participants).
- Creative mindset.
- Previous camp experience strongly preferred.
- Exceptional communication skills, experience with public speaking, preferred.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Attend required onboarding and training sessions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to lift up to 30 lb at a time.
- Must be able to work in an active, outdoor environment in a variety of weather conditions.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk working on a computer.
- Able to maintain attention and a high level of energy or excitement for extended periods of time.
- Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to sit; use hands to finger, hand, or feel and talk or hear.
- Willingness to live in a camp setting and work irregular hours.
SALARY & BENEFITSStarting Salary: $3,500
