Camper Experience LeadCamp TekakwithaSeasonal, Non-benefit eligible
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:The primary role of the seasonal Camper Experience Lead position is to help bridge the gap between parents and camp. The ideal candidate is someone with knowledge of camp, experience working with kids, and experience communicating with campers to especially connect new families with camp. It is imperative this individual understands the mission/vision of both the Diocese of Green Bay and Camp Tekakwitha. The ideal candidate is one who has a desire to serve the campers, staff, and community deeply rooted in the Catholic faith.As a member of the lead team, this individual is expected to be a role model and set a standard of excellence for the camp counselors, kitchen aides, and counselors in training. While employed at Camp Tekakwitha, this individual must follow the most basic doctrine of the Catholic Church to align with the mission/vision of the Diocese of Green Bay. Ideal candidate will be an example as a Missionary Disciple with a servant heart.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: Embrace the mission and vision of the Catholic Diocese of Green Bay and work in accordance with Catholic Teachings and the moral and ethical values of the Catholic Church.
- Applicant must be 19 years of age and possess a valid driver's license.
- Must be first aid/CPR certified (or willing to be trained).
- Understanding of the mission/vision of Camp Tekakwitha.
- Understanding of Catholic Church teachings and practices.
- Applicant must have a background as a Camp Counselor, including at least one year of previous youth camp staff experience (preferably at Camp Tekakwitha).
- Applicant must have background knowledge of parent communication and experience working with kids.
- Proficiency with conflict resolution and problem solving.
- Must be a proficient listener and communicator with people from all walks of life.
- Adequate knowledge of the summer camp world, youth programming, and Catholicism.
- Collaborative decision-making skills and conflict management.
- Able to work well with people of all backgrounds and all ages.
- Strong relational ability to serve as a member of a team, work independently, and be hospitable to camp families.
- Competency in aligning to mission/vision, state standards, and ACA regulations.
- Proficiency in word, excel, outlook, and PowerPoint.
