Position Title Campus and Local Events Coordinator Job Description

Missouri Western State University invites candidates for the Campus and Local Events Coordinator position in the Department of Admissions. The Campus and Local Events Coordinator supports the Assistant Director for Orientation & Campus Visits to manage relationships with the local community (schools, organizations, and businesses) and manage their needs for on campus events, assist in oversight and management with new student orientations (GO and Edge), and manages the Ambassador's scheduling. The position supports the Admissions Office to attract and engage prospective students to attend Missouri Western.

Will supervise Student Ambassador employees

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

* Build relationships with strategic partners (i.e. primary market school districts and high schools) and community-based organizations to engage prospective students in meaningful venues that align with university priorities, such as high school events, signing days, college fairs, and other specialty community events.

* Coordinates, and is the primary point of contact for, campus visits and orientations throughout the year for prospective students.

* Schedule and manage student ambassadors, ensuring they are well-prepared and provide exceptional experiences that allow prospective students to envision themselves at Missouri Western.

* Assist the Assistant Director in developing and delivering Griffon Orientation (GO) and Edge programs to deliver a robust and engaging on campus experience.

* Coordinates with faculty and staff to arrange meetings with prospective students; follow up as necessary to ensure that all arrangements are confirmed, and experiences met expectations.

* Organize and manage group tours, Saturday tours, Athletic tours, and Griffon Experience events, including the preparation of visitor information packets, facility and dining arrangements.

* Maintain accurate records and data related to campus visits, orientations, and recruitment events and establish memorable follow up campaigns

* Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree

* Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

* One year of experience in event management

* Experience in higher education, specifically admissions or student affairs

Physical Demands

Sedentary work; exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

FLSA Non-Exempt Additional Demands

* Night and weekend work is often and expected.
