Job Description:

Assist Student Leadership and Campus Life staff district wide with overall operations of student programming which include developing work for promotional activities such as activity calendar, student organization logos and college functions.Assist the Tejano Food Pantry with the intake application, collections, and dissemination of product and inventory.

Issue identification cards for staff, students, and faculty at all campuses. Assist in the design and development of semester activity calendar, banners, flyers, posters, etc.

Help promote campus life activities within the college and the community by advertising and disseminating information for student clubs and organizations activities. Coordinate student functions (bands, comedians, fashion shows, contest and Talent shows) in addition to sound, video, and electrical systems for campus student program activities activities and leadership.

Assist in the coordination and scheduling of campus life activities and programs and scheduling facilities. Coordinate with community businesses and agencies to acquire needed commercial art supplies and equipment to support college and community promotional requests.

Serve as receptionist, answer telephones, route calls to appropriate personnel and take messages. In addition, assist with managing social media for Student Leadership and Campus Life.

Perform other duties as assigned. In-person work on campus is an essential function of this position.Required Qualifications:

1. One (1) year of college (30 credit hours) and one (1) year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

NOTE: A copy of the transcript reflecting this required education MUST be submitted for consideration and reflect completed coursework and degrees conferred. The candidate must be fully qualified for the position at the time of application.

2. Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.

3. Effective communication skills (both oral and written).

4. Ability to organize and facilitate multiple projects simultaneously.

5. Ability to be detail oriented.

6. Ability to maintain consistencies in actions and practices.

Special Condition(s):

1. This is a security-sensitive position as defined under the Texas Education Code, Section 51.215; the successful applicant will be required to undergo a criminal background check, as permitted and/or required by applicable law, and in accordance with the College's policies and procedures.

2. The El Paso Community College is building a pool of Applicants for part-time staff positions. This pool will be accessed when an opening arises. Your application will remain active for approximately one (1) year from July 2024 to June 2025. After this time, you will need to re-apply if you are still interested in remaining a part of the pool.

Transcripts issued in a language other than English must be accompanied by a full translation (word for word) by a current member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). Additionally, each foreign transcript must be evaluated for equivalency to United States accredited coursework.

Applications containing foreign transcripts that are not accompanied with the above required documentation will not be considered.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk and use hands to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
