OPPORTUNITY SUMMARY The Community Engagement Coordinator is a great opportunity for a student looking to gain experience working behind the scenes at both on and off-campus events. As the Engagement Coordinator, the student is responsible for assisting in the planning, execution, and evaluation of events for the community. The position must be comfortable leading and addressing a group of their fellow students. The Community Engagement Coordinator reports directly to the Senior Associate Dean - Campus Life & Student Development. SHIFTS:
- Shifts Available: Various Hours Based on Programming. . Must work weekends and nights as needed
ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create all aspects of a menu for off-campus events, including establishing recipes and putting together storeroom orders.
- Utilize the established list of Busy Bees to coordinate volunteer coverage at events.
- Act as the supervisor to the Busy Bees when a Professional Staff member is not present.
- Brainstorm and pitch new ideas/initiatives to enhance events.
- Responsible for marketing any events, including the creation of posters and assisting with social media.
- Collaborate with other student staff members on the development and execution of programs.
- Support Professional Staff with large-scale Campus Life events.
- Complete all other duties as assigned by Professional Staff.
PREREQUISITES
- Actively engaged in the campus community.
- Have experience using Microsoft Office and OneDrive.
- Ability to complete a storeroom order (accessing inventory list, looking up items, etc.)
- Knowledge of graphic design programs, such as Canva or PosterMyWall.
- Must be available to work nights and weekends as needed.
PREFERRED PRIOR EXPERIENCES
- 0-1 year of program planning experience.
- 0-1 year of managerial experience.
- Ability to upscale recipes to accommodate large amounts of production.

Successful applicant must be able to perform all related functions of the assignment which may include working nights and weekends, ability to bend reach and stand for long periods of time, lifting and carrying of items up to fifty (50) pounds, and the ability to withstand high ambient temperatures.
