This journey is guided by prayer opportunities, presence and programming, sacramental, cultural and co-curricular initiatives, based upon Catholic Social Teaching. While maintaining a Catholic identity, campus ministry is open and inviting to everyone, embracing the mission of Spalding University.The Campus Minister serves the spiritual needs of the university community through a student centered and ecumenical approach reflecting the values of Spalding University and its Catholic identity. The Campus Minister will support the overall goals of the Office of Student Affairs by providing interaction and engagement with students through inclusive program offerings catering to a diverse student body of various viewpoints and beliefs. In addition to developing student ministry experiences, the Campus Minister serves as a campus-designated confidential resource for students seeking spiritual guidance and support.Campus ministry will serve is part of the Office of Student Affairs and is a full-time appointment.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Organize and facilitate ministry and faith-based activities and events, including worship services, weekly Mass, Bible study groups, prayer groups, various types of retreats to meeting the needs of the diverse community, mission trips other social justice activities and other events in collaboration with the Office of Student Affairs
- Provide spiritual guidance and pastoral care to all members of the campus community
- Represent campus ministry at campus events
- Represent Spalding University at appropriate professional organizations and Archdiocesan events
- Manage all reservations, advertising and marketing for campus ministry events
- Develop and manage campus ministry budget in collaboration with the Director of Student Engagement
QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS
- A master's degree in Pastoral Ministry/Theology or related field. Two to five years pastoral ministry experience
- Must be a fully initiated member of the Catholic Church, nourishes her/his faith through ongoing spiritual formation and prayer
