Under direct supervision the Campus Recreation Trainer will be responsible for assisting with day-to-day operations of the Athletic Training Clinic, providing comprehensive patient care to various groups (students, club sports participants, intramural participants, alumni members, community members, faculty/staff) and ensuring effective Club Sports game(s)/event(s) and clinic coverage.
Position Specific Accountabilities
Assist with evaluating and treating athletic injuries; consult with a physician and the Head Athletic Trainer. Assist with overseeing the operations of the Athletic Training Clinic. Ensure a safe and efficient clinic environment for both patients and staff.
Provide comprehensive athletic training services to students, club sports participants, intramural participants, alumni members, community members, faculty/staff. May develop and implement individualized treatment plans. Will conduct injury assessments, rehabilitation and therapeutic exercises.
Report any injuries, evaluations and treatments in electronic medical records program.
Coordinate and provide trainer coverage for various on campus games and events, ensuring the safety of participants. This will include and is not limited to club sports and clinic events as necessary. May need to utilize emergency action plans for events as needed.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with on and off-campus medical facilities. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Assist in the facilitation of application and submission of insurance claims for patients. Capture and maintain necessary files for medical and treatment records within the clinic.
Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

Requisite Qualifications
* Typically a Bachelors degree or equivalent. Master's degree preferred. Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of regulation/policy changes. NATA, CPR, and First Aid Certification.
* Demonstrated knowledge in the areas of physical therapy techniques; medical terminology as it relates to follow-up care; human physiology and anatomy as it related to athletic performance; and knowledge of simple card filing systems.
* Minimum 1 year of experience in athletic training or a clinical setting.
* Certification by the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification.
* CPR/First Aid/AED, Basic Life Support or Certified Professional Rescuer Certification. National Athletic Trainers Association Member in good standing preferred.
* Demonstrated knowledge in the areas of physical therapy techniques; medical terminology as it relates to follow-up care; human physiology and anatomy as it related to athletic performance; and knowledge of simple card filing systems.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
* Ability to lift 50lbs with appropriate accommodation.
