Job Overview: Now hiring campus safety officers full and part-time. Shift: 10:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m. Under the general supervision of a Campus Safety Supervisor, this position is a member of a team of officers responsible for providing personal safety for members of the university community through a courteous, helpful and professional manner. This position provides a highly visual deterrent to campus crime while protecting the property and assets of the university. Education:
- High School Diploma or GED.
Experience:
- 2 years' security work experience and/or physical security and protection of assets training; emergency services experience including fire and rescue; military and/or law enforcement experience; experience using radio communications equipment.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Valid driver's license.
- Act 34 clearance
- Act 235 (preferred)
- Law enforcement certification (ex. Act 120)
- Complete University safe driver program with van certification within 30 days of hire
(Equivalent combinations of education, licenses, certifications, training and/or experience may be considered.) Shift rotation:
- 7 nights working followed by two days off
- 8 nights working followed by four days off
- Long weekend off (Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday) every 3rd weekend
Pay and Benefits
- $15.50 per hour
- Double time and ½ pay for designated university holidays.
- Vacation, personal, and sick time provided with full-time status and accrual.
