Campus Security Officer - Part-timeCairn University has a part-time opening for a qualified candidate to fill a Security Office position for the campus Office of Safety and Security (OSS). This position will include a variety of day, evening, and night shifts. This position could lead to a full-time employment offer. Ideal candidates will be available to work additional days/hours to cover for other security staff, if needed. Security officers are expected to be available to work special events, such as Homecoming weekend, as well as Fall and Spring Commencement. Job Responsibilities: The Security Officer will follow specific training and protocols and under regular supervision the Officer will maintain safety, enforce University rules and regulations, and protect life and property within the University community. Work responsibilities include patrolling campus primarily on foot and occasionally by OSS patrol vehicle, with appropriate training and direction. Security officers are expected to provide courteous customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors while enforcing safety and security measures.Required:
- Uphold laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- If offered the position, successfully complete the PA and FBI Criminal background and
Child Abuse History clearances.
- Driver's License with clean driving record and licensed to drive for at least 2 years.
Preferred:
- Prior security experience.
- Current PA ACT 235 certification, or willing to become PA ACT 235 certified.
