GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

This is a part-time, 22 hours per week, position located on the Emmetsburg Campus. Primary duties include floor and online merchandise processing, customer service, and daily sales reporting. The ability to learn and operate the Campus Store Point of Sale, e-Com, and Online Textbook Store programs. A sincere commitment to customer service and teamwork are a necessity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (% OF THE TIME):

Constant (67-100%)

* Assist in various general office duties in the Campus Store: filing, information posting, mail and package distribution, supply maintenance.

* Team with Campus Store co-associates to: process, receive, stock, and invoice merchandise into the Store Point of Sale system.

* Approve and submit invoices for payment to Accounts Payable.

* Reconcile credits and process per procedure.

* Balance cash registers daily. Accurately complete deposit and reports as set by the College.

* Assist with online store operations.

* Assist in clothing, food, and supply orders in coordination with team members.

* Assist in inventory management including returns, transfers, and correction. Report obsoleted merchandise to supervisor.

* Monitor and maintain e-Commerce inventory and order completion in coordination with Campus Store co-associates.

* Maintain regular Campus Store merchandise and storage areas, including product placements, displays, and general neatness.

Frequent (34-66%)

* In coordination with co-associates, supervisor, Financial Aid, and Campus Store POS system, monitor accuracy of Student Financial Aid vouchers for student course related purchases.

* Monitor accuracy of shelf/retail prices. Update as needed in Campus Store POS system.

* Compile or prepare reports as directed by supervisor.

* Assist students with textbook purchases, information, and special orders.

* Charge student accounts for financial aid vouchers in accordance with Campus Store and College policy.

* Contribute to process and customer service improvements with Campus Store Team.

Occasional (10-33%)

* May be required to work additional hours during peak registration periods.

* Contact vendors and publishers for order discrepancies and damaged products as requested.

* Process mail and package delivery.

* Assist with freshman orientation and Move-In days.

* Substitute for other staff during absences (vacation, sick, etc.).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

* Thorough knowledge of office procedures, telephone techniques and office equipment.

* Knowledge of English usage, grammar, and punctuation.

* Knowledge and experience working with numbers for purposes of retail, cash register, bill payments, invoicing.

* Knowledge of computers and ability to access, input, calculate, and retrieve information from a computer for word processing, spreadsheets, and the mainframe.

* Must be able to work as a team member.

* Must be positive and energetic in performance of assigned duties and responsibilities.

* Represent the college in a positive manner to employees, students, visitors, and the public.

* Ability to read and understand written and oral instructions or communication.

SPECIAL DEMANDS:

Medium work. Position involves sitting and standing; exerting up to 50 pounds of force frequently (34-66%). Stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, and carrying, occasionally (10-33%). Walking, lifting, and grasping frequently (34-66%). Talking, hearing, viewing various types of close visual work, and repetitive motion, constantly (67-100%). May be required to travel utilizing personal vehicle. Must have valid driver's license, good driving record and provide proof of insurance.

Employment with Iowa Lakes Community College is dependent upon successful passage of a criminal background check. Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma or equivalency required. Good computer skills in word processing and spreadsheets required.

Salary: $15.00 per hour
