DESCRIPTIONThe Moores Cancer Center (MCC) is one of just 57 NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers in the United States and the only one in San Diego County. As a consortium cancer center, it is a collaborative partnership between the UCSD, encompassing 28 departments, 6 schools, and various research entities dedicated to fulfilling the Moores Cancer Center's mission of reducing cancer's burden. Under general supervision of the Director for Training, Education and Research Collaborations at UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center (MCC), the Cancer Training and Education Program Manager is responsible for the administrative management, planning, coordination, and operations of multiple cancer research training and education programs within MCC. These include our NCI Cancer Center Support Grant-funded Cancer Research Training and Education Coordination (CRTEC) and NCI-funded T32 programs. Responsibilities include acting as a key liaison between the Cancer Center's Research Administration office and all entities within and outside UCSD, providing high-level professional project management, coordination and administrative support for organizational management and strategic planning to senior leaders in the Cancer Center. This role requires tact, diplomacy, and discretion on a wide variety of complex and sensitive issues.
Key responsibilities also include serving as the main point of contact for cancer-related career enhancement activities, ensuring appropriate interpretation of applicable guidelines related to training and education activities, preparing research documents and grant applications, reviewing procedures and data for use in grants, manuscripts, and presentations, and tracking programmatic finances.

Annual Full Pay Range: $69,500 - $123,500 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%).
Hourly Equivalent: $33.29 - $59.15.
