Job Description:
New Locations Opening in Sherrill and Chittenango! We are currently seeking Cannabis Dispensary Retail Associates to join our team at Verona Collective, Oneida Indian Nation's cannabis retail operations. Cross-training in all departments, creating a welcoming environment for all guests, understanding and executing compliance and in-store policies, cash handling and accuracy are some of the expectations within this role. This position requires a desire for continued excellence and a drive for the continuation of business development. WEEKEND AVAILABILITY MAY BE REQUIRED - The ideal candidate for this role must be available to work on weekends. PART-TIME SHIFTS ONLYResponsibilities Include:
  • Greet and confirm guests have been checked into POS with proper form of identification and are 21+.
  • Sustain a thorough, accurate understanding of all Cannabis products available, the knowledge to curate options for each guest individually, and the ability to express consumption methods and storage.
  • A full-fledged understanding of Cannabis is not required, but a passion for the plant is a must. Candidates will receive further education upon accepting the role.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and fully stocked sales floor selection.
  • Assist in inventory receiving, auditing, labeling, and re-stocking of products.
  • Collaborate with team members to secure a 'pick & pack' operation, with confirmation of 100% accurate order fulfillment.
  • Daily & weekly audits of all Cannabis products to ensure 100% accuracy in physical and digital counts.
  • Comfort in using POS fluently, with an ability to handle minor troubleshooting operations.
  • Ability to give accurate change to customers and follow general money handling protocols.
  • Offer an upbeat, informational, and personalized experience to each guest while staying mindful of an optimal flow for all guests.
  • Stay current with inventory levels and options for guests/sales floor team members, while expressing needs to Fulfillment/Vault associates.
  • Ongoing availability to work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the business including morning, midday, and evening shifts as well as weekends and holidays
  • Remaining calm, friendly, and engaged in a fast-paced environment.
  • Create relationships with guests that ensure brand loyalty and return.
  • Perform opening & closing procedures, including cleaning, reorganizing, ensuring all Cannabis items are secured, and counting tills.
  • Being responsible for assigned cash till during the shift and verifying cash amounts are consistent with reports at the end beginning and end of their shift.
  • Ensure the shift switches are smooth and the team entering the establishment next is prepared and fully stocked.
  • Participate in pre-shift meetings to learn about any changes in products or procedures, expected sales & promotions and any other news from the Management team.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of retail, hospitality, or customer service experience.
  • An enthusiastic self-starter who can prioritize tasks, work well in a team-driven environment, and maximize efficiency.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office applications and moderately tech-savvy to troubleshoot minor issues.
  • Proficient in cash handling, math skills, and attention to detail.
  • Customer-oriented with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Emotionally intelligent with an ability to stay current with diverse consumer needs.
  • Capable of remaining collected and efficient in a high-pressure environment.
Additional Job Requirements:
  • Must have excellent communication skills and be able to work with a diverse set of personalities and learning styles
  • Must be 21 years or older
  • Ability to work with a team
  • Ability to stand on feet for up to 10 hours
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
