Job SummaryThe Capital Division Manager is responsible for managing the Capital Projects Division of the Public Works Department, including planning, organizing, and directing staff, activities, and budget for major capital improvement programs (CIP). This position sets goals and objectives for the program and oversees the efficient and timely completion of Public Works projects in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and policies.
Distinguishing Characteristics: The Capital Division Manager leads the operations and activities of the CIP division, in addition to providing technical direction and oversight to program staff, consultants and contractors. The Capital Division Manager reports to the Public Works Director, who is responsible for Public Works programs and has final decision-making authority. The Manager is part of the Public Works Leadership Team and works closely with other Public Works Divisions including Maintenance Center Operations, Streets and Grounds, Utilities (Water and Wastewater), Surface Water, Transportation, and Development Services, and the Facilities Services Division of the City Manager's Office.
