Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Capital Markets Analyst to join our dynamic Capital Markets team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the DSCR (Debt Service Coverage Ratio) rate lock desk, overseeing the DSCR rate lock sizer, handling whole loan trading for both RTL (Real Estate Transfer Loan) and DSCR loans, supporting securitization operations, and executing rate hedging strategies. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in capital markets and contribute to the strategic execution of trading, rate lock activities, securitization processes, and hedging strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

DSCR Rate Lock Desk Management:

  • Oversee and manage the DSCR rate lock desk operations, ensuring accurate and timely execution of rate locks.
  • Monitor market trends and interest rate movements to inform rate lock decisions.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and external clients to address rate lock inquiries and issues.

DSCR Rate Lock Sizer Oversight:

  • Utilize the DSCR rate lock sizer to determine appropriate rate lock amounts and parameters.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and market regulations regarding rate locks.

Whole Loan Trading:

  • Execute whole loan trades for both RTL and DSCR loans, ensuring precision and adherence to market conditions.
  • Analyze market data and loan performance to make informed trading decisions.
  • Collaborate with senior analysts and traders to develop and implement trading strategies.

Securitization Operations:

  • Support securitization operations; draw reimbursements, loan sales, repurchases, reporting
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to facilitate the securitization lifecycle
  • Monitor and report on the performance of securitized assets and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of documentation and reports related to securitization transactions.

Rate Hedging Execution:

  • Execute rate hedging strategies to manage interest rate risk associated with rate locks and loan portfolios.
  • Analyze market conditions and interest rate forecasts to inform hedging decisions.
  • Collaborate with senior analysts and traders to develop and implement effective hedging strategies.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of hedging activities and their impact on the overall portfolio.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Perform detailed analyses of rate lock, trading, securitization, and hedging data, generating reports for senior management.
  • Track and report on key performance metrics and market trends affecting DSCR and RTL loan trading, securitization operations, and hedging strategies.

Risk Management:

  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with rate locks, whole loan trading, securitization, and hedging activities.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market risks and regulatory changes impacting the capital markets.

Administrative Support:

  • Provide administrative support for the Capital Markets team, including maintaining records, coordinating meetings, and preparing documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of capital markets, financial instruments, and loan structures.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and modeling.
  • Familiarity with DSCR and RTL loans, securitization processes, and rate hedging preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and financial software tools.

Preferred Skills:

  • Previous internship or experience in capital markets, financial analysis, securitization operations, or rate hedging.
  • Experience with trading platforms, financial modeling software, and hedging strategies.
