The Capital Markets Support Associate will assist in the development and successful execution of the Capital Markets business line strategies of Newmark. Providing financial analysis, management consulting, and decision support, as well as tracking progress of various critical initiatives for Capital Markets and associated business lines, for a range of financial and operational projects is a primary objective. This role will directly support the Capital Markets Executives. This position requires in-office attendance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct studies of work problems, procedures, and processes to ensure a high level of operational effectiveness within Capital Markets and in cooperation with other Newmark business lines.
  • Work on special assignments that may be complex in nature where judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations to Capital Markets executives.
  • Track action items and deliverables for Capital Markets executives and proactively address them.
  • Create, review financial analyses for Capital Markets executives relating to internal/external contract negotiations.
  • Prepare and revise presentations, agendas, memos, letters, spreadsheets, and various other documents.
  • Prepare comprehensive and complex proposals, reports, charts, tables, and other documents.
  • Gather and analyze information required for annual planning cycle, forecasting, including resource planning, strategy formulation, budgeting and profit center performance measurement.
  • Interface with enabling department personnel including Information Technology, Research, Marketing, Human Recourses and Finance.
  • Conduct research and generate detailed data and information for inclusion in reports, information packages, and presentation materials.
  • Production and distribution of monthly reports for internal and external clients, based on area of business.
  • Perform related work as required to ensure projects are completed as proposed to internal management and external clients.
  • Organize and follow up on client meetings – inclusive of any internal Capital Markets or cross-business-line staff.
  • Must understand and review commercial real estate documents (leases, loan documents, appraisals, contracts, etc.)
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Skills, Education and Experienced:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or other related field is highly preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook is required
  • Previous experience in a commercial real estate environment preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Well organized with a supreme attention to detail
  • Positive, “can-do,” work hard attitude
  • Ability to multi-task without losing focus
  • Comfortable interfacing with clientele and executives
