Description

Job Summary:

Responsible for managing capital procurement for ALTIVIA, ensuring efficient and cost-effective purchasing, tracking expenditures, and maintaining strategic vendor relationships. This role plays a key part in supporting authorization-for-expenditure (AFE) related projects, collaborating with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Finance teams to align purchasing activities with project needs and budget forecasts.

Key Responsibilities:

* Vendor Negotiation: Negotiate equipment and material purchases with vendors to secure optimal value while fostering positive, strategic relationships.

* AFE Management: Monitor and manage requisitions for AFE projects, ensuring timely approvals and tracking expenditures through accurate PO and General Ledger (GL) coding.

* Purchase Orders: Create POs with proper AFE references and GL codes, ensuring spend is tracked and reconciled.

* Invoice Validation: Collaborate with Accounts Payable to validate invoices related to AFE projects, including progress payments and incentives.

* Forecasting: Work with Engineering to define long-lead equipment and summarize procurement needs, providing forecasts based on project schedules and payment timelines.

* Stakeholder Communication: Communicate procurement updates to Manufacturing, Engineering, and Finance teams, providing clear summaries of expected costs and schedules.

* Month-End Close: Monitor receipts and ensure timely closure of PO line items for swift month-end close.

* Vendor Setup: Coordinate with master data teams to set up new vendors and provide standard credit references for capital procurement.

* Financial Alignment: Ensure AFEs are correctly budgeted and purchasing activity aligns with approved authorizations.

* Collaboration: Work with site Procurement Analysts to link capital-related maintenance spend and work orders to AFEs.

* Compliance: Ensure a proper 3-way match for all capital project purchases, adhering to financial controls and addressing any non-conformances.

* Reporting: Generate purchasing plans and provide performance reports to plant managers and senior management.

Reports to: Supply Chain Director (Dotted line to VP of Manufacturing)

Qualifications

Qualifications:

* Education: Bachelor's degree required (technical or engineering degree preferred).

* Experience:

* 5-10 years of purchasing experience required.

* Capital project procurement experience preferred.

* Experience in the chemicals or process industry is a plus.

* Skills:

* Strong technical comprehension and negotiation abilities.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

* Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

* Proficiency in Excel and data analysis.

* Ability to manage vendor relationships and track purchasing milestones effectively.
