Overview Juncos Hollinger Racing is seeking a skilled and passionate Indy Race Car Mechanic to join our dynamic and competitive team! Position Summary: As an Indy Race Car Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in the preparation, maintenance, and performance optimization of our IndyCar Series racecars. You will work closely with our team of engineers, mechanics and drivers to ensure our racecars are in peak condition for every race, contributing to our ongoing success in the world of motorsports. Responsibilities Key Responsibilities: Maintain, repair, clean and inspect all mechanical components of Indy racecars, including but not limited to suspensions, brakes, engines, and drivetrain systems. Follow the directions, instructions and documentation issued by the car chief Perform regular inspections and diagnostic tests to identify and address mechanical issues quickly and efficiently. Ensure that racecars are compliant with all technical regulations and safety standards set forth by the IndyCar Series. Participate in pit crew duties during races, including but not limited to tire changes, refueling, and adjustments as needed. Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the team's workshop and transport vehicles. Keep detailed records of maintenance and repair activities, including parts inventory and usage. Assist with pre-race and post-race preparations, including car setup, load-in/load-out, and transportation logistics. Stay up-to-date with the latest automotive technology, racecar innovations, and safety standards to remain at the forefront of the racing industry. Participate in training and development programs that continually improve skills and knowledge. Act as a key team member during practice sessions, qualifying sessions, and races, providing timely support and problem solving. Skills & Attributes: Proven experience as an Indy Race Car Mechanic or a similar role in motorsports. Strong knowledge of IndyCar Series regulations and technical requirements. Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical issues in race cars. Familiarity with data acquisition systems and telemetry analysis. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced racing environment. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Willingness to travel to all race and test events, often on weekends and holidays. Physical fitness and agility to perform pit crew duties. Valid driver's license and the ability to operate transport vehicles is a plus. Qualifications: Certificate/Diploma from an Automotive Trade School or equivalent work experience is preferred. Previous experience as a mechanic from an automotive dealership or similar experience is preferred. Previous experience on a race team is preferred. Physical Requirements and Body Mechanics As part of our Indy racing team, this role involves physically demanding tasks that require strength, coordination, and safe body mechanics. Candidates must be able to: Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds frequently and occasionally heavier loads, utilizing proper lifting techniques to prevent strain or injury. Demonstrate the ability to perform repetitive motions including bending, kneeling, and twisting, especially in tight or confined spaces, while maintaining proper posture and body mechanics. Safely handle tools, equipment, and racing components, ensuring ergonomic handling to minimize risks of musculoskeletal injuries. Be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment, often in varying weather conditions, while adhering to safety protocols related to body positioning and movement. Proper body mechanics are critical to maintaining the safety and performance of our team. Training in safe lifting techniques and ergonomic practices will be provided to support team members' well-being.
