Job DescriptionCurrently offering a $15,00 Sign on Bonus!!The experienced Cardiovascular Interventional Technologist assists the physician in performing interventional, cardiovascular, and operating room procedures. Produces images to actively assist the attending physician. Uses pre-established imaging protocols and departmental policy to perform safe operation of imaging equipment and all functions of the job. May provide complete pre and post education to patients and family. Able to evaluate competency level of others as preceptor. Leads and directs the work of others. Attend meetings as designated by clinical supervisor or department director. Provide input regarding departmental changes. Act as a resource for all imaging technologists in cardiac cath lab, electrophysiology, and/or interventional radiology. Address physician concerns in conjunction with clinical supervisor and departmental director. Significant departmental responsibilities delegated by the clinical Director/Supervisor. Reports to Supervisor or Manager.ResponsibilitiesProficient in all complex and advanced interventional procedures. Actively participates and assists physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular and/or interventional radiology procedures, including but not limited to implanting pacemakers/defibrillators, structural heart, electrophysiology, cardiac and vascular angiograms including diagnostic and interventional, and neurovascular and interventional radiology procedures and interventions. Always follows as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA) guidelines and operate fluoroscopic imaging equipment to produce contrast enhanced radiographs of heart, vascular, cardiovascular system. Acts as a backup for other technologists in the department as needed to ensure quality of care is being met while being able to evaluate competency of others as a preceptor, serving as charge when needed, and acting as a lead tech on call backs. Serving as lead tech by being subject matter expert to the physicians and other team members as well as overseeing all equipment. Check, test, and maintain fluoroscopy equipment, to ensure proper operation. Completes all other equipment daily checks/test that must be performed and documented before first procedure, troubleshoots where possible and/or notifies service when daily checks/test fail. Monitor patients' blood pressure, oxygen saturation, heart rate, comfort and patient safety. Ensures patient vital sign documentation is accurate and alert physicians of abnormalities. Also uses electrocardiogram (EKG) equipment during diagnostic or therapeutic procedures. Maintains a proper sterile field during surgical procedures. Performs quality audits and projects as needed and participates in performance improvement.QualificationsExperience Previous experience required 8 + Years of progressive interventional or cardiovascular experience Education High School or equivalent Graduate of accredited Radiologic Technologist ProgramCertification/Licensure License or Certification required American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, ARRT (R) Louisiana / Mississippi LicenseRCIS, RCES, CI or VI (one of the 4)Basic Life Support, BLS - HCP, ACLSKnowledge/Skills/Abilities Compassionate Patient Care Effective Communication Attention to detail
