Lutheran SPay: $19/hr + Mileage reimbursementThe Care Companion is responsible for engaging members (clients) in service by providing direct care to increase socialization and connect to community and resources in the designated community! This position does not have a designated office space within an LSS property.What LSS offers you:* All employees have access to childcare assistance, discounts on events and services, an employee assistance program, financial counselling, a wellness program, and UKG Wallet which allows you to access your payroll dollars before payday!* Mileage reimbursement for travel to and with persons served .* Employees working 30+ hours a week have access to medical, dental, life, vision, 403(b) plan with a match, and other ancillary plans.* Generous PTO plan that includes paid holidays and float days.* Paid training during your orientation and throughout your employment.* Opportunities to grow your career at LSS within our 24+ different services.* A diverse workplace with an outstanding reputation for putting the persons served and employees first.* An ALIVE Workplace that is Supportive, Positive, Healthy and Fun!As a Care Companion you will:* Complete program outreach, friendly visits (telephonic and in-person), light household chores, and personal errands (such as grocery shopping and transportation).* Document direct care visits of members in service, assuring compliance with program regulations, and managing relationships with multiple stakeholders in the community.* Provide provision of direct client services, including LSS Healthy Transitions and similar services, under the supervision of a certified staff member.Qualifications & Requirements:* Ability to work well with diverse individuals, families, groups and organizations and demonstrate compassion, patience, flexibility and respect for others.* Provide regular in-home/telephonic visits to members and provide transportation in the community as needed.* Have dependable transportation and be willing to transport members in your vehicle.* Computer skills, bookkeeping, computer spreadsheets and word processing skills required.* Excellent communication and customer service abilities required.* Organizational skills, problem-solving and the ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.* A valid driver's license, a clean driving record and background checks are required.Lutheran Social Service MN is a dynamic social service organization serving children, youth and families, people with disabilities, older adults and military veterans.
