Job DescriptionPosition Summary: The Career Advisor, as part of the Youth Pathways Career Services team, will deliver individual and group career coaching and advancement curriculum to program participants. Through building job application materials (resume, cover letter, online applications, etc.), developing and implementing workforce development workshops, and working in conjunction with Account Managers, the Career Advisor connects job seekers with available opportunities, assists with the job placement process, and ultimately helps guides participants into economic self-sufficiency. Essential Job Functions:
- Lead and manage a computer lab of between 10-30 participants.
- Administer the TABE test to participants both in the office and remotely and monitor the test-taking process to ensure all participants understand the directions and that testing protocols are adhered to.
- Ensure that TABE scoring is completed and documented in Fedcap's internal database.
- Develop and deliver targeted job search curricula and workshops, such as online application sessions, interview preparation, etc.
- Create, edit, and tailor participant resumes.
- Supervise participants engaged in computer-driven job searches.
- Coordinate the tracking and reporting of attendance, interviews, and placements.
- Accurately provide eligible participants with metro cards, as per Career Services guidelines
- Ensure the organization and accuracy of participant documentation.
- Provide resources and external referrals as needed, for services such as clothing, childcare, food assistance, etc.

Education and Experience:
- Four-year college degree in Human Services, Social Work, Education, or comparable work-related experience
- Ability to deliver specific curriculum, differentiate instruction, and lead groups.
- Superior communication skills (verbal and written)
- Experience and/or a demonstrated desire to work with the economically disadvantaged, homeless, and/or public assistance recipients' populations.
- Ability to meet deadlines, juggle multiple priorities, and excel in a team environment.
- Bilingual (English Spanish) preferred.
