OPPORTUNITY SUMMARYAn opportunity for students in Hospitality, Business, and/or Applied Food Studies whose career trajectory includes sales, guest outreach, fundraising, or event planning with a heavy emphasis on data integrity. The student will be an integral member of our employer outreach team focusing on collecting and importing updated information about our externship partners and alumni for first-destination employment information. The position will entail heavy phone and email outreach, creation of a tracking and reporting system, collection and accurate entry of data, along with face-to-face engagement for information at in-person career events. This position will assist with the execution of the Hyde Park campus career fairs, with full-cycle involvement of the planning and execution of these events.SHIFTS Must have flexible weekday and weekend availability ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESUtilization of Culinary Connect Database for reporting and data entryCreation of an outreach plan utilizing phone, email, and in-person events to share the urgent need for updated information for both employers and alumniObtaining updated information and accurate input into Culinary Connect systemUtilization of MS Excel to track/report on progressDirect contact with external partners as a representative of CIA, maintain professionalism and employingpleasant persistence to obtain necessary informationRegular communication with Mentor to update on progress using visual data and to elevate any concerns immediatelyAssist with planning, organization, and full-cycle execution of career fair eventsPREREQUISITESStudent should be enrolled in a bachelor's program or in associate program with prior educational experienceAt minimum, student should be in second semester of classesMust be pleasant and outgoing on phone and in-person, with comfort cold-callingMust be able to demonstrate attention to detail and be meticulous with data entryComfort with utilizing MS Excel, PPT, and One DrivePREFERRED PRIOR EXPERIENCESExperience in guest-facing, sales, and/or data entry roles preferredSKILL DEVELOPMENT AND LEARNING OUTCOMES OF ASSIGNMENTAbility to maintain professionalism and adhering to standards of operational excellence, safety, efficiency and educational goals set by the CIA.Strong communication skills to effectively interact with guests, students, and faculty/staff.Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to be adaptable, dependable and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.Strong analytical, problem-solving and conceptual skills.Successful applicant must be able to perform all related functions of the assignment which may include working nights and weekends and ability to work in person or virtually using Microsoft Teams.
