Job Description:

Position Overview:

The Career Coach will work as part of the Youth Careers Program to develop, implement, and oversee career counseling initiatives. The primary goal of this role is to assist middle and high school students in exploring career opportunities, identifying pathways, and achieving career-related goals. The Career Coach will collaborate with schools, community organizations, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of individualized career counseling services.

Responsibilities:

Program Delivery & Career Counseling:

  • Collaborate with school-based counseling teams and other organizations to align career services and avoid duplication of efforts.
  • Provide direct career counseling to students, either individually or in groups.
  • Deliver programs that help students explore career paths, identify career goals, and pursue pathways aligned with today's modern economy.
  • Guide students in mapping their career paths, conducting orientations, and delivering follow-up services.
  • Include parents and guardians in career exploration activities to build awareness of available career opportunities.

Communication & Coordination:

  • Communicate regularly with students, parents, and school staff to ensure program alignment with performance goals and legislation requirements.
  • Coordinate with partners and stakeholders to develop and execute program delivery plans.

Support & Documentation:

  • Ensure the provision of resources and support services as needed by program participants.
  • Monitor and document program outcomes to ensure alignment with established goals and performance metrics.

Reporting & Supervision:

  • Report to the program coordinator and work closely with school staff, community organizations, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • This role has no supervisory responsibilities and is exempt from overtime.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in providing direct services to students or youth, preferably in career counseling or related fields.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to engage with diverse groups, including students, parents, and organizational partners.
  • Ability to align program goals with broader educational and career-focused legislation.
  • Familiarity with career counseling tools and resources is a plus.

Work Environment:

This is a hybrid role requiring flexibility to work both on-site and remotely. The position involves regular interaction with school-based teams and external partners to ensure the successful implementation of career counseling initiatives.
