Salary: $19.50 - $22.00 Hourly Location : Wayne Community College Job Type: Part-Time Job Number: 202400041 Division: Applied Technologies Opening Date: 11/08/2024 Closing Date: 11/22/2024 11:59 PM Eastern FLSA: Non-Exempt Length of Employment: 25 Hours Per Week Primary Purpose The Career Technical Education (CTE) Outreach & Success Navigator is responsible for recruiting a diverse range of students, with a focus on Hispanic/Latino communities, and connecting them to institutional resources that support their retention, academic success, and overall achievement. Position Duties This role will represent the Applied Technologies Division, with a focus on outreach within the Hispanic/Latino community. Responsibilities include presenting information about division programs at high schools, businesses, college and career fairs, festivals, and other public events. The position will also involve attending community events to promote the Curriculum, Workforce Development and Continuing Education, and Career & College Promise programs, as well as providing Spanish translation support when needed. Position Requirements A Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, marketing or related field from a regionally accredited institution and at least three years of experience is required. Bilingual in English and Spanish, both written and verbal, is required. Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and occasional weekends to accommodate community events and meetings. Must have a valid North Carolina driver's license with a driving record sufficient to be covered under the Wayne Community College auto policy is required. Work experience as a career advisor, academic/success coach, recruiter, or industry-related career development work is preferred. A National Career Readiness Certificate is preferred. If selected for employment, the applicant must submit to a criminal background check and drug screening.
