TrinityRail Maintenance Services, Inc.is searching for a talented team player to fill the open position of Career Valve Technician at our Shell Rock IA office.
What you'll do: - Perform disassembly, cleaning, inspection, measuring, assembly and testing of valves included but not limited to, safety valves, XS flow valves, heater coils, or bottom outlet valves
- Responsible for repair and testing of various valves, including but not limited to ball valves, gate valves, butterfly valves, safety relief valves, etc.
- Examine valves parts for defects, dents, or loose attachments, and mark malfunctioning areas of defective units. Disconnect and/or remove defective or unauthorized valves. Replace defective parts and reassemble units according to customer specifications
- Test valves and gauges for leaks and accurate temperature and pressure settings, using precision testing equipment
- Follow all schematics and documented procedures in accordance with all Quality Control and ASME National Board standards that apply to the job
- Thoroughly complete all maintenance, calibration and documentation associated with testing and repairs to include test results, material usage and repairs made
- Travel to job sites when required and adhere to all site safety and performance requirement
- May train others in the standards and processes of the role
Qualifications What you'll need: - High School Diploma or GED and 2-5 years industrial valve repair experience, or an equivalent number of years of education and experience
- Experience with repairing various valves and actuators, whether pneumatic, hydraulic or electric
- Mechanically inclined and able to use a variety of power tools, hand tools and cutting torches to perform required tasks
- Must be able to work in confined spaces and at elevated heights
- Must be able to read and comprehend basic drawings and scope of work
- Must be able to accurately read a tape measure
- Must possess basic math skills, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
