- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Take and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
- Assist with mobility and transfers, including using assistive devices and lifting techniques
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding for patients who require assistance
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients
Skills:
- Proficient in using electronic medical record systems to document patient care
- Knowledge of vital signs monitoring and interpretation
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or special needs
- Familiarity with meal preparation and dietary restrictions
- Understanding of assisted living and senior care principles
- Valid driver's license for transportation to patient homes or healthcare facilities
- Knowledge of hospice care principles and practices
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks as required in patient care settings
