Always Best Care of Wallingford and New Haven -

**CAREGIVERS NEEDED!!

Responsible for making living safely and independently possible for our clients. The main function of the caregiver is to provide care for clients in a safe, secure, professional environment which meets their needs. The caregiver assists with the activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, personal hygiene, incontinence care, meal preparation, medication reminders, keeping the home safe and clean, as well as the overall supervision of the clients' physical and mental well-being by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Provides daily routine care such as bathing, dressing and feeding.*

2. Assists client in walking to prevent falls.*

3. Provides companionship to clients on a routine basis.*

4. Implements CDC guidelines with regards to good hand hygiene, proper face mask wearing, and current COVID guidelines.*

5. Provides patient transportation to doctor appointments, outside activities and shopping.*

6. Provides light housekeeping which includes changing sheets and doing laundry, vacuuming, swifting, dusting, cleaning the bathroom and keeping kitchen area clean.*

7. Provides medication reminders.*

8. Cooks and serves meals, snacks and pushes fluid intake for our clients.*

9. Answers client's calls*

10. Assists client with household chores and daily living activities.*

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Certificates and Licenses:

· State CNA certification preferred

· PCA or HHA certification or equivalent training and experience preferred

· Valid driver's license

· COVID-19 Vaccination

Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities:

· Oral communication

· Written communication

· Customer service

· Customer relations that includes care of the client, addressing family member concerns

· Diplomacy

· Professionalism in dealing with office staff, assigned clients and assisted living communities
