We have one part time position that would be every other weekend overnight (Friday, Saturday & Sunday 9pm to 8am) and a couple part time fill-in positions. Our Caregivers are an important part of our team and are responsible for providing daily living skills training and providing supervision and support to our clients with developmental disabilities. Principal AccountabilitiesClient Services: Direct Support
- Provide support with activities of daily living, such as personal care, dietary preferences/menu planning, medication management, therapy exercises, money management, cleaning, and household maintenance.
- Provide the appropriate level of supervision to each client according to his/her needs.
- Maintain knowledge of each client's support plan, recognize patterns and respond appropriately.
- Maintain accurate, detailed, and thorough documentation for each client. Monitor and report behavior to the appropriate manager in a timely manner.
- Develop a therapeutic relationship with the client and maintain appropriate boundaries.
Client Services: Community Integration
- Attend meetings and medical appointments with clients as needed.
- Take clients to recreational activities and events in the community and schedule client transportation as needed.
- Assist clients in developing new social supports through hobbies and support groups and encourage clients to maintain current relationships.
- Maintain an inventory of needed groceries and supplies and transport clients for shopping when needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Experience working with people with disabilities is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in the English language is required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift 25 to 50 pounds and tolerate medium to physical effort including walking, standing, lifting, stooping, squatting, bending, reaching, pushing, and/or pulling.
