Job Description:

Lifespan Companion Care is now hiring Caregivers in the Indianapolis area!

Job Summary:

Provide supportive and personal services for the clients with consideration of dignity and privacy. Provide personal care and hygiene, meal preparation, light housekeeping, ambulation/transfer, andtransportation assistance to clients.

Qualifications/Educational Requirements:

1 . Graduate of an accredited High School or equivalent preferred.

2. Ability to read, write and follow directions.

3. Must meet agency personal care attendant training requirements.

4. Work positively and favorably with patients, families, and staff.

5. Demonstrate compassion, responsibility, and a cheerful attitude.

6. No findings on the nurse aide registry or Medicare exclusion list relating to client abuse, neglect, or misappropriation of client property.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

The person in this position must be able to perform the following essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

1 . Follow the instructions of the Agency Manager in providing care.

2. Provide assistance with hygiene such as bathing, oral care, and dressing.

3. Perform and record accurate measurements (e.g., intake/output as instructed in the service plans).

4. Observe and report any safety hazards found in the client's home or any significant observations regarding the client.

5. Report patient complaints to the office staff

6. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to the agency Policy and Procedure manual.

7. Possess the ability to follow written and oral instructions.

8. Report abnormal findings in client's conditions as observed and per the client's service plan.

9. Perform the following task when instructed by the Agency Manager: Documentation of environmental situations and client behaviors

10. Ambulation, positioning, and turning.

11. Transportation

12. Personal hygiene and elimination

13. Meal Preparation

14. Socialization

15. Self-Care

16. Teaching reinforcement that has been planned by the family and Agency Manager.

Physical Requirements:

1. Physical stamina to lift patients, stand and model exercises.

2. Ability to use muscles to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects.

3. Must be able to lift, transfer, and assist patients.

4. Regularly required to sit, talk, hear, and use fingers to operate a telephone.
