Overview:As a Cargo Specialist, you'll be the cargo handling expert for everything the Army moves by land, sea, or air. Youll ensure the Army receives supplies, weapons, the mail, and equipment on a daily basis all over the world. You will be trained in cargo documentation, the securing of cargo, and learn how to load and unload cargo manually or by operating material handling equipment like cranes and forklifts.
Job Duties:Inspect, count and document cargo utilizing both manual and automated data processing systemsLoad and unload supplies and equipment from ships, docks, beaches, railheads, boxcars, warehouses, motor vehicles and aircraftOperate and maintain all types and sizes of winches, cranes and forkliftsCreate load plans for air shipment and ocean liner vesselsOperate ocean liner vessel equipment
Basic Qualifications:Age - 17 to 40 years oldEducation - Current Senior in High School(HS), HS Diploma, GED, GED equivalent, or higher education level completedCitizenship - U.S. Citizen/Permanent ResidentSubmit to background and medical screeningReceive a passing score on the ASVAB
