**Description:**
. POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs general to advance carpentry duties throughout all hospital facilities, Performs other duties as assigned to assist in achieving overall division and hospital goals. May be required to work other shifts as well as rotating schedules and overtime.
GENERAL SKILL (not limited to)
- All phases of carpentry
- Insulation
- Drywall work
- Painting and finishing
- Tile work
- Suspended Ceiling Systems
- Trim
- Reading and interpretation of plans
EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
High School graduate or equivalent plus post high school trades/vocational training and 5 years on the job experience.
Participates in orientation and continuing education in order to maintain knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise. Completes population specific competency annually on populations served as identified in scope of care and service.
SPECIAL EQUIPMENT, SKILLS OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Working knowledge of general carpentry techniques. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Ability to calculate material needs from blueprints and specifications. General knowledge of applicable code and regulatory related issues. Strong knowledge of commercial flooring and acoustical ceiling tile installation.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND HAZ ARDS _:_
Industrial setting. Exposure Class I -Routine or potential exposure to blood secretions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Heavy work: lifting, pushing, pulling, walking, standing
