Primary Duties and Responsibilities: includes but not limited to:
- Sets metal door frames and is responsible for all steel wall construction
- Constructs, laminates and installs cabinets
- Provides building maintenance and repair
- Performs finish work, such as installing interior and exterior trim
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:- Provides general building repair and maintenance
- Responsible for all department logs and labor recording pertinent to the day-to-day job duties
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment
Minimum Education and Qualifications:- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Four years of commercial carpentry experience
- Thorough knowledge of all phases of cabinet construction and lamination
- Must be familiar with the safe and effective use of all types of power tools
- Must have experience with setting metal door frames and steel wall construction
Competencies: Incumbent will master the following competencies while in this position:
- Basic knowledge of the safe and effective use of all types of power tools
- Ability to interpret and follow carpentry instructions and specifications such as blueprints, manuals, sketches and work orders
- Measures and accurately calculates dimensions
Training Requirements:- Respirator training and fit tested
- Man lift training (scissor and boom lift)
- Forklift training
- Fall training
Physical Demands and Work Environment:- Must be able to work in a smoking environment as well as various weather conditions including extreme hot and cold
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to bend, stoop and climb a ladder
- Ability to wear a breathing mask
- Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hours
