PLEASE UPLOAD HS DIPLOMA/GED AND TX DRIVER LICENSE

REQUIRED:

* High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) in English;

* Two (2) years of related experience.

* A valid Texas Driver's License and an acceptable driving record.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

Studies blueprints, sketches, dimensions or building plans for information pertaining to type of material required, such as lumber, fiberboard and dimensions of structure or fixture to be fabricated; works with additional materials such as concrete block, concrete mix, steel reinforcement, sand fill, and/or other general construction materials of structure or fixture to be fabricated as indicated by plans and as assigned. Selects specified type of lumber or other materials. Prepares layout; marks cutting and assembly lines on materials. Shapes materials to prescribed measurements. Assembles cut and shaped materials and fastens them together with nails, dowel, pins,or glue. Verifies trueness of structures with plumb bob and carpenter's level. Erects framework for structures. Builds stairs and lays out and installs partitions and cabinetwork. Fits and installs prefabricated window frames, doors, doorframes, weather stripping, interior and exterior trim, and finish hardware, such as locks, letter drops, and kick plates. Applies shock absorbing, sound deadening, and decorative paneling to ceilings and walls. Lays sub flooring; covers sub floor with building paper to keep out moisture and lays hardwood, parquet, and wood-strip-block floors by nailing floors to sub floor or cementing them to mastic or asphalt base. Constructs forms and chutes for pouring concrete. Erects scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level. Drives District vehicles to and from work sites; obeys all traffic laws. Strives continually to promote the safety, health and comfort of students and employees in the performance of duties. Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties. Maintains confidentiality at all times. Maintains a high level of ethical behavior as is expected of all District employees. Performs any other duties as assigned by the Administrator.
