: Job Details :

Summary: To perform a variety of skilled carpentry work involved in the fabrication, installation, replacement and repair of wood structures and components in buildings and facilities.

Essential Duties: (These duties represent a sample and may vary by position.)

* Perform a full range of carpentry work including structural, fabrication, installation, repair and maintenance tasks involved in repair, remodeling and new construction projects.

* Repair and replace ceiling tiles, on buildings; lay a variety of floors including wood, vct and sheet vinyl.

* Install or repair glass storefront entrance doors or windows as needed.

* Alter, repair and construct wooden fixtures such as partitions, counters, doors, window frames, sheds, scaffolds, forms and fences.

* Maintain integrity of building structures; repair stairway flooring, built in bookcases and restroom hardware.

* Break up, dig out and patch existing concrete structures for repair and reconstruction; repair brick and concrete block walls and structures.

* Maintain and operate a variety of tools including drills, routers, power saws and other woodworking machinery; sharpen hand tools and insure that tools and equipment are properly maintained.

* Construct and repair classroom and office furniture, equipment and fixtures.

* Assist in maintaining accurate records of labor, materials and costs.

* Perform related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

Minimum

* Ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance.

* One year of experience performing skilled carpentry work.

Desired

* High school diploma/ G.E.D

Licensing / Certification Requirements: Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid driver's license.
