We are currently looking for a hardworking and motivated individual to join our special projects team as a Carpenter. This individual helps maintain the cleanliness, appearance, and general safety of the property. He or she works with a minimum of supervision to ensure all areas of the property are maintained in a sanitary, orderly, and attractive condition by performing various tasks including minor repairs, daily/weekly maintenance, setup and tear down of functions. Multiple property position.The Carpenter must have carpentry experience. The candidate will be working in multiple facilities doing all phases of carpentry and construction. Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license is a requirement. Some nights, weekends, and holidays may be required.The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of maintenance/custodial experience that includes knowledge of basic equipment and repairs. He or she must have the physical ability to perform all aspects of this job (lifting, standing, bending, etc.), must be reliable and trustworthy, and must pay attention to detail and take pride in his or her work. Responsibilities:Installing wooden structures such as roofing framers, joists, partitions, rafters, and stud workDesigning and installation of cabinets, shelves, drywall, and insulationAdding fittings and fixtures including door handles, hinges, locks, and closuresSelecting lumber as per the requirements of the project and sourcing wood that fits within budget and meets style specificationsLiaising with department heads and executive team to discuss project details, budgets, and timelinesWorking with suppliers to obtain necessary material while staying within the customer budgetConsulting other construction professionals to ensure the best possible results and the final productReading blueprints and designs prepared by other architects, construction professionals, and ensuring they meet building code recommendations and requirements.Maintains clean, organized work areas and securely stores equipment and suppliesCompletes any reports or logsReports equipment malfunctions, injuries, and accidents to the supervisorPerforms other duties as assignedPerforms small repairs as assignedRequirementsQualifications:A degree or an apprenticeship in carpentry preferredHigh level of creativityExcellent design skillsAbility to use hand and power tools, including drills, saws, nail guns, chisels, and sandersCabinet making or joinery skillsComprehensive knowledge of building regulations and codesAt least one year of relevant construction experience preferredAble to follow spoken and written instructionsAble to work without direct supervisionAble to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as neededAble to work a flexible schedule, which may include working days, evenings, weekends, and holidaysDriver's License and reliable transportationCarpentry tools
