Advanced Disaster Recovery, Inc., is a leading restoration contractor in the NY/NJ/PA/CT area with more than 35 years of experience in disaster restoration, is looking for motivated, service-centric full-time employees to help grow its team of professionals in the region. We provide restoration services - such as emergency response, emergency pre-planning, construction services, catastrophe response, contents restoration, environmental services, mold remediation, fire and smoke damage, and water damage services - to commercial, insurance and residential clients. We provide services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. About the Carpenter Position:The Carpenter will be responsible for working on construction projects, varying in size, as well as will be performing hands-on work, including basic carpentry, painting, drywall, etc., and will be managing a small crew.Duties & Responsibilities: Installing wooden structures such as roofing frames, rafters, partitions, joists and stud workDesigning and installing cabinets, shelving, fitted furniture, drywall and insulationAdding fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks, hinges and closuresSelecting lumber by size and strength to suit each job, sourcing wood to suit the customer's budget and styleCalculating the number of fasteners required for each jobLiaising with clients, suppliers and other construction professionalsReading blueprints and designs to work to specifications prepared by other construction professionals, architects and building code recommendationsRead blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirementsTake measurements and calculate the size and amount of material neededCut, shape and smooth lumber and other material (e.g. fiberglass) according to measurementsBuild window frames, doors, staircases and frame buildings by using raw materials or pre-constructed itemsLay out floorings, roofings or drywalls ensuring they are leveled and compatibleCarve and assemble furniture, cabinets, shelves and other items and install them where designatedInspect places and conduct repairs or maintenanceBuild scaffolding and other construction structuresAny other duties assigned my manager Agree to Advanced Disaster Recovery's COVID-19 precautions policies Job Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent2+ Years of Carpentry experienceBasic math skillsProficient with tools, measuring instruments, heavy machinery, and electrical equipmentGood hand-eye coordination and manual dexterityPhysically fit with high enduranceAble to read and interpret blueprints and schematicsAdheres to best practices regarding occupational safety hazardsCommunicating with the customer start and end times each day and the status of the projectManaging the crew to ensure that work is being completed efficientlyValid driver's license in good standingSatisfactory background checkTo learn more about Advanced Disaster Recovery, please visit: /
