- Finish carpentry, painting, construction and repairs/installation of framing, masonry, concrete, flatwork, waterproofing, commercial roofing systems, flashing, gutters, caulking, drywall, vinyl wall coverings, trim, flooring, carpet, split rail and chain link fence, signage, etc.
- Builds/maintains/finishes cabinets, tables, bookcases, shelving, countertops, woodwork, furniture, etc.
- Renovations to facilities.
- Installs doors, windows, hardware, classroom equipment, window treatments, etc.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
- Skilled in the operation and use of tools, chemicals, materials, and equipment of the building construction trades, including carpentry, drywall, roofing, concrete, masonry, etc.
- Knowledge of types and skilled in the applications and use of paints, adhesives, stairs, wall coverings, etc.
- Able to work variable shift(s) if needed.
- Provide instruction to assistants and assist with training of new co-workers.
- Heavy equipment operation experience a plus.
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Standing, bending, climbing, carrying, reaching, handling, and use of fingers 50% or more of the work day. Able to work off scaffolds, lifts, ladders, roof tops, etc.
- Regularly attendance is required for this position. Actual schedule is contingent upon the needs of the Department and Vincennes University.
- Works both indoors and outdoors, occasionally under inclement weather conditions.
- May work in close proximity to electrical/HVAC equipment.
- Occasionally lifting 50-100 pounds and over.
