POSITION SUMMARYThe Construction Carpenter will build, erect, install, and repair forms, structures, and other fixtures made from wood and other materials as needed to assist with various types of construction projects.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESI. Duties/ResponsibiliesInstalling metal framing, drywall, drywall finisher, and acoustic ceilingsInstalling millwork and trims or moldings making clean and precise anglesInstallation of doors, frames, and related hardwareStocking material in designated rooms, using care not to damage corners of cartonsRemoving cutoffs and scrap to dumpster or recycle binIdentifying any unsafe conditions and take appropriate actionReviewing plans for proper millwork placement and review finish schedule for location of moldings and accessoriesLaying out millwork plan using lasers to achieve accurate levelness, review architectural plans and finish schedule for details related to the installationsAdheres to local building and safety codes and guidelines.Works well as part of a team.Performs other related duties as assigned.II. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.REASONING ABILITYAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
