Pay Starts at $17.51/hr. and can go up based upon experience!

Job Overview:

Ensure painting and skids are built to specifications for all units sold. Set up, operate, and tend machines to coat or paint any of a wide variety of metal products with lacquers, enamel, oil, or rust-proofing materials maintaining viscosity for application.

Responsibilities:

* Observe machine gauges and equipment operation to detect defects or deviations from standards and make adjustments as necessary.

* Determine paint flow, viscosity, and coating quality by performing visual inspections, or by using viscometers.

* Weigh or measure chemicals, coatings, or paints before adding them to machines.?

* Select appropriate coatings, paints, or sprays, or prepare them by mixing substances according to formulas, using automated paint mixing equipment.

* Turn dials, hand wheels, valves, or switches to regulate conveyor speeds, machine temperature, air pressure and circulation, and the flow or spray of coatings or paints.

* Record operational data on specified forms.

* Operate auxiliary machines or equipment used in coating or painting processes.

* Fill hoppers, reservoirs, troughs, or pans with material used to coat, paint, or spray, using conveyors or pails.

* Perform test runs to ensure that equipment is set up properly.

* Clean machines, related equipment, and work areas, using water, solvents and other cleaning aids.

* Attach hoses or nozzles to machines, using wrenches and pliers, and make adjustments to obtain the proper dispersion of spray.

* Remove materials, parts, or work pieces from painting or coating machines, using hand tools

* Build skid or shipping boxes with the use of basic woodworking tools such as sawing tools, metal banding, use of pneumatic nail guns and packaging equipment with carpenter tools

* Transfer completed items or products from machines to drying or storage areas, using handcarts, hand trucks, or cranes.

* Attach and align machine parts such as rollers, guides, brushes, and blades, using hand tools.

* Demonstrates excellence in completion of all other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

* HS Diploma or GED preferred

* Ability to perform repetitive lifting up to 35 lbs.

* Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time.

* Noise level is moderate to high-PPE is required

* Respirator training / qualification required.

* Ability to read and interpret Bill of Materials and Engineering controlled documents.

* Ability to pass and maintain a Powered Industrial Vehicle license.

Core Competencies:

* Ability to read and use measuring tools.

* Ability to operate woodworking tools

* Demonstrates basic computer, keyboarding and printer skills.?

* Ability to read and use measuring tools.

* Ability to identify and solve problems.

Preferences:

* Prior experience applying paint with a paint gun preferred.

* 1-2 years experience in a high volume shipping area preferred.
