We are currently hiring for a Carpenter Superintendent for work in Charlotte, NC and surrounding areas. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years experience in commercial carpentry. This is a working superintendent position and is night shift. Pay is $25 - $30 per hour based on skill set and experienceCarpenter Superintendent Responsibilities:
- Plan, schedule and coordinator all carpentry work for commercial construction projects
- Review project plans and specifications to determine appropriate carpentry methods and materials.
- Monitor project timelines and budgets to ensure timely completion.
- Supervise, mentor, and train a team of carpenters and apprentices.
- Delegate tasks to team members based on skill sets and project needs.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback.
- Ensure all carpentry work meets the required building codes and client specifications.
- Conduct inspections of work completed to ensure quality standards are maintained.
- Address quality issues promptly and implement corrective measures.
- Promote and enforce a culture of safety on the job site.
- Ensure all team members are trained in safety procedures and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Conduct safety meetings and regular site inspections to identify and mitigate hazards.
- Work with project managers, architects, general contractors, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth project execution.
- Provide regular progress updates to management and clients.
- Resolve conflicts and challenges that may arise during the construction process.
- Assist in ordering and procuring materials required for carpentry work.
- Manage inventory of tools and materials, ensuring proper storage and maintenance.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, labor hours, and project expenses.
- Prepare daily reports and documentation required for project tracking and compliance.
- Assist in the preparation of change orders and requests for information (RFIs).
Carpenter Superintendent Qualifications:
- 5+ years Construction Superintendent in commercial projects
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, scheduling, and budgeting.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, LEED) are a plus.
- Willing to travel
- Clean MVR
- Ability to work night shift
