General Summary of Position The Carpenter Panel Installer exists to install a variety of Light Gauge Metal Wall Panelsincluding load bearing light gauge metal wall panels, curtainwall light gaugemetal wall panels; structural steel and other products offered as add-ons toKlover Wall Panel Systems. This position must be familiar with the tools of thetrade and can read, follow, and understand blueprints, drawings, and workorders.
Essential (Core Competencies) Duties- Accurately measure and read height, width,length, and other proportions with a tape measure
- Assist foreman with proper layout for work tobe put in place
- Fabricate or alter parts using grinders,sawzalls, shears, hammers, punches, or drills
- Join materials with PAFs, nails, screws,staples, or adhesives
- Use levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares,and lasers to ensure everything is level and secure
- Check work along the way to ensure it meetsspecification and quality standards
- Install/use rigging and hoisting equipment
- Install wall panel products according tospecifications and building codes
- Maneuver units into position for installation,and anchor the units
- Work at heights with several elevated platforms
- Keep work area clean and productive
- Always exercise the proper use of PPE
- Set up and safely use company equipment
- Maintain welding certification throughmaintenance logs and supervisor observation
QualificationsPreferredEducation and Experience:- Participation in a secondary or post-secondarytrade curriculum
- 1+ year experience with panel or structuralsteel installation
- 1+ year experience with stick welding(optional)
- Knowledge and understanding of constructionsafety devices and PPE
- Rigging and Signaling experience is aplus
- Carpentry knowledge
