Position Summary: The main function of a non-IT project manager is to plan, direct, or coordinate activities in fields such as engineering, research and development, financial systems and product roll-out, etc., or any other non-IT-based project. Responsibilities: Coordinate projects, make detailed plans to accomplish goals, and direct the integration of technical activities. Present and explain proposals, reports, and findings to clients. Analyze technology, resource needs, and market demand, to plan and assess the feasibility of projects. He or she will design, implement, maintain, and recommend changes to the new functions and features to update the test plans and produce evaluation processes. The incumbent will work closely with Developer and Project Managers in defining and designing performance test requirements. Lead other engineers to ensure thorough test coverage and test performance before the product launch date. The incumbent will also be working on action items such as: making and coordinating each project's schedule (entry & approval) and test plan, and reporting to HQ and internal group the risk points such as blocking issues before launch or carrier entry date as well as follow up all of these issues.
- Designing and implementing test strategies, test plans, functional and performance test cases, policies, and infrastructures for ensuring high-quality hardware and software for client wireless mobile devices. Also, take the lead in test execution efforts with engineers in various locations.
- Design, implement, maintain, and recommend changes to test cases, test procedures and instructions, and product evaluation processes. Promote standard test methodologies for use throughout the company.
- Specifies test equipment required for product verification or qualification testing.
- Assist in the testing and evaluation of new mobile features to ensure that said products contain no unidentified problems.
- Working with Developers and Project Managers in defining and designing performance test requirements.
- Lead other engineers to ensure thorough test coverage and test performance before the product launch date.
- Responsible for planning, processing, and performing all jobs in an efficient manner with no assistance from the supervisor.
- Works closely with MQL (Mobile Quality Lab) testing teams in the US and S/W Engineering and Development Group in HQ.
- Responding promptly to reports submitted by other QA engineers and professionally reporting detected issues.
- Review, edit, and update internal test plans.
- Expected to conduct internal issue analysis with limited support from upper management to increase Client mobile device's quality and stability in a rapidly progressing mobile industry.
- Analyze and manage issues detected by QA engineers to professionally present issue reports to upper management and other departments.
- Analyze and understand test specifications and correctly translate them to set up test designs and cases for QA engineers.
- Responsible for proofing new features and various test cases as needed to ensure the production of a quality product.
- Tests new features to ensure that features and performance are correct, and that test results are accurate; assists other engineers with test assignments.
- Strong and effective interpersonal communication skills and the ability to interact professionally and positively with a diverse group of clients and staff.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and Electrical Engineering.
- 4 -5 years of system/software QA/software development experience. (Telecom experience preferred).
- GSM, CDMA, WCDMA, and LTE experience.
- In-depth knowledge of wireless technologies such as GSM and CDMA is required.
- Experience testing in mobile products.
- Demonstrated experience in functional and performance testing.
- Proven experience in the QA life cycle, from the test plan, and test execution, to reporting bugs.
- Knowledge of software development models and their impact on testing.
- Hands-on experience of wireless standards/protocols preferably GSM/CDMA/WCDMA/LTE and Radio interface and/or exposure to RF network engineering.
