KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Make outbound phone calls to solicit and match carriers with available loads.• Take inbound calls for carrier availability and maintain that information for future use.• Develop relationship with core carriers and sell those carriers the benefits of using our service.• Assist with the tracing of shipments as needed by making outbound calls and querying carrier websites to determine shipment status.• Provide pricing information to shipper representatives as needed.• Visit, from time to time, key core carrier customers.• Drive production to meet company daily load count and margin % goals.• Train, explain tasks, and assist in the solution of problems.• Search company records using the company TMS system and provide necessary information and or reports to customers and team members.• Resolve customer questions related to shipments in transit as needed.• Maintain liaison with shipper representatives for order completion.• Respond to requests via telephone or email, using a personal computer when necessary.• Additional responsibilities:

    • Assist shipper representatives in completing requests for rate proposals.
    • Make calls and send correspondence to develop carriers into core carriers.
    • Discuss and help resolve carrier performance issues with internal and external customers.
    • Complete various administrative functions that are required as needed.
    • Perform other allied duties as assigned by supervisor.

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • One (1) years' experience in sales, operations, logistics, or related role.

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

  • High school education mandatory; college degree preferred.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: • Knowledge of TMS System, delivery and transit times, and similar data• Ability to speak, read, and write English• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Pleasant telephone voice/manner• Ability to operate simple office equipment sufficiently to perform the job• Ability to compose correspondence and make decisions quickly • Excellent customer service and telemarketing skills
