CR s automotive journalists have always been at the forefront of this work.As Content Team Lead, Cars, you will report directly to the head of CR s 100-plus member content team. You will help set the strategy for CR s autos content, including working closely with stakeholders across the organization to ensure CR is the dominant authority for both new- and used-car buyers looking to purchase and maintain their cars with ease and confidence. We are looking for a dynamic, innovative leader, skilled in audience engagement and content strategy, who can integrate their passion for mission-led work with their editorial know-how to help consumers. Under our CRFlex program, this is a hybrid position.This position is not eligible for Sponsorship (TN, L1, etc.)HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACTThe role ensures that CR s editorial differentiation and direction in this space is compelling and consistent, and that it supports the full enterprise s objectives to drive growth in impact and revenue. Key to this is understanding the audience, the new- and used-car marketplace, CR s competitive set, and evolving technology related to cars to help CR stay relevant to consumers. You will:Lead execution of editorial strategy for cars, including the creation of content across channels (digital, print, social, video). This includes managing a team of writers and editing content, with responsibility for crafting actionable, consumer-centric advice.Monitor product categories for ratings, reviews, and updates to maintain relevance and currency with audiences. Help execute on partnerships and new products and services that expand CR s reach and revenue.Serve as a CR expert on the autos category externally, including in the press and on social media.Align and execute on the enterprise-wide cars strategy by building strong relationships with leaders across the organization, including in testing, marketing, new ventures, and social impact. Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the organization s business and enterprise objectives to understand how the Cars category integrates with the whole.Understand changing consumer behaviors and the changing marketplace around cars.Build and maintain relationships with freelance writers and subject matter experts.Oversee and manage budgets. Complete training and professional development requirements in a timely manner.Perform all duties in accordance with CR s values, our compliance program, and other policies and procedures.Perform other related duties and special projects as requested.ABOUT YOUYou ll Be Highly Rated If:You have the knowledge. At least eight to 10 years of experience in digital content strategy development, preferably with experience in a leadership/vision-setting role, as well as experience writing, editing, and packaging content for print. You have the degree. You have a bachelor s degree in journalism, communications, marketing, English, or a related field.You are highly effective at creating compelling, resonant content. You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and compelling manner to diverse audiences.You use data to drive your decisions. Your ability to use data allows you to make evidence-based judgments. You value collaboration. You have excellent skills in the areas of persuasion, negotiation, and influencing. The target salary range for this position is $180k to $190k. It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall near the middle of this range.
