This person will work under the direct supervision of the Director of Finance and ID Services and is responsible for general accounting duties for SUNY Cobleskill Auxiliary Services, Inc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities for CAS, Agency, and Coby's

Office and Clerical Responsibilities:

* Daily deposits

* Monthly journal entries, preparation and posting

* Accounts Payable invoice preparation, processing, and printing of checks

* Accounts Receivable - CAS catering, CobyCard Billings, summer camps, and Residential Life..

* Bank reconciliations, bank runs, month-end, and year-end reconciliations.

* Prepare office supply and equipment order purchase orders.

* Perform other duties, as required/assigned.

* Assist with all duties as assigned by the Business Office staff.

* Provide great customer service to the campus community.

Human Resource Responsibilities:

* Assist with compiling and maintaining orientation packet materials in Payroll System for both staff and students, as needed

* Assist with probationary period notifications to supervisors

* Assist with highly confidential filing of personnel information

* Assist with staff mailings

Marketing/Communication duties, as needed.

Requirements:

Qualification Requirements

Education and/or Experience

* Associate's Degree in Accounting or Business

* Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and ability to use pivot tables

* Experience should include, but is not limited to, customer service, ability to use judgement and make decisions.

* Attention to detail. Strong communication, interpersonal and organization skills.

Accountability

* Performance is evaluated on the achievement of specific financial and non-financial goals such as timely distribution of reports, ability to maintain up-to-date records, and distribute information, as required.

* Performance is also evaluated on the demonstration of skill levels in areas such as customer service, communication, cooperation and coordination with supervisory personnel in all areas and the Executive Director. Must be able to effectively work with student customers.

Knowledge / Skills

* Read, analyze, and interpret business and technical procedures

* Interpret and apply accounting principles and theories in work applications

* Organize and analyze financial data

* Work with detail, problem solve, and communicate fiscal problems

* Present information and respond to questions

* Calculate figures and amounts and apply principles of accounting

* Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

* Use computer software programs, and/or other applications, such as Excel, Accufund, and any other software needed to complete day-to-day tasks.

Physical Demands

* Sitting, and use of computers for long periods of time.

* Repetitive Motion

* Lifting up to 30 lbs.

Additional Information:

Terms of Employment

52 weeks per year 40 hours per week

Salary Range

$18.00 - $20.00/hour

Office Hours

Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Schedule will be as determined by mutual agreement and may be subject to change to meet the needs of the operation.
