Position Overview: Sun River Health is currently seeking a part-time Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) for our Bay Street Substance Abuse Center location in Staten Island, NY. In this role, you will provide alcoholism and substance abuse counseling services at our Licensed OASAS health center. The CASAC will perform diagnostic assessments, evaluations, interventions, and both individual and group counseling for clients who face barriers to employment due to substance use disorders. You will work as part of a collaborative clinical team to provide comprehensive support, develop treatment plans, and deliver services that contribute to the rehabilitation and recovery of individuals. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Counseling and Support: Develop and conduct group and individual counseling sessions on a scheduled basis, ensuring alignment with treatment goals and providing support to clients as they work toward recovery. * Program Education: Introduce clients to program goals, objectives, rules and regulations, and their rights and obligations within the program. * Treatment Planning and Intervention: Create individualized treatment plans, demonstrate effective clinical interventions, and ensure that treatment is both appropriate and tailored to each client's specific needs. * Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of client interactions, assessments, and progress within the electronic health records (EHR) system (ECW). * Referral and Resource Management: Update and maintain referral services and resources available to clients, making referrals as needed to ensure clients receive comprehensive support for recovery. * Legal Reporting: Prepare monthly reports and legal documentation as required by program guidelines. * Collaboration: Work within a multidisciplinary team of licensed clinicians to coordinate care and ensure that treatment plans align with the overall clinical approach of Sun River Health. * Community Outreach and Education: Provide education to clients on the dangers of substance abuse, treatment options, and available resources for recovery. Job Title: Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) Location: Bay Street Substance Abuse Center, Staten Island, NY Position Type: Part-Time Salary Range: $24 - $26.79 per hour Minimum Education & Qualifications: * Education: High School Equivalency required. * Licensure/Certification: Valid Full OASAS CASAC certification (completion of 350 hours). * Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience working in an OASAS-certified program. * Preferred Experience: Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.
