Job Description:
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: The purpose of the Case Aide position is to support the mission, vision, and values of SCO Family of Services through assisting the Extraordinary Needs Social Services team meet concrete needs of youth and families that increase safety, reduce risk, and promote wellbeing. The Case Aide works closely with a team of Case Planners, a Social Services Supervisor, and the Director of Social Services to ensure all responsibilities are carried out in accordance with the standards the Administration of Children's Services (ACS) and SCO Family of Services. The Case Aide must be sensitive to the rights, feeling, needs and cultural background of each client and responsive to such in a non-judgmental manner.REPORTS TO: Social Services Supervisor & Director of Social ServicesSUPERVISES: N/ASPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES Commit to being an active contributor to the vision and mission of the program. Work collaboratively with a team of Case Planners, a Social Services Supervisor and Director of Social Services to aid in assessments, goal setting, interventions, and case management support. Provide administrative support to the office as needed: reception, filing, and other responsibilities, as assigned. Conduct home and office visits and accompany clients to appointments with housing, public benefits, court, and other service providers. Provide outreach, referrals, escort, and advocacy to connect youth and families with resources applicable to their needs. Assist youth in completing various applications and documentation, as needed. Request collateral documentation from schools, medical providers, and other service providers. Support team to assess safety and risk and assist to implement crisis management plans and safety plans as needed. Develop positive collaborative relationships with community-based resources on behalf of the program. Complete all required documentation and data entry within deadlines. Attend individual and group supervision and all necessary meetings and trainings.QUALIFICATIONSEducation:
  • High school diploma or GED; Associate degree preferred.
  • Previous human services (residential) experience preferred.
  • Evening hours required, pending the needs of the programs.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and oral skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Commitment to working from a strength-based/collaborative approach perspective.
This role necessities at minimum a 35-hour work week. Overtime is given and will be honored if said requisites are beyond the normal means of accomplishing required tasks.Special Skills:
  • Ability to utilize virtual platforms for meetings/court/conferences.
  • Ability to utilize copy/fax machines.
  • Willingness to learn how to craft legal documents.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • This position is eligible for compensatory time off. Agency vehicles are available for driving, subject to NYS DMV check of the Case Aide's driving record.
