Case Assistant is responsible for working with Firm attorneys, clients, and staff professionals to support a wide range of litigation and administrative matters. The Case Assistant will typically perform billable tasks associated with case organization, discovery support and support for trial/arbitration. The Case Assistant may also have other non-billable administrative projects that provide value to the Firm when not being utilized on billable client matters. A Case Assistant will maintain regular office hours consistent with the Firm's normal business hours and be available, as needed, for after-hours and weekend overtime.
JOB FUNCTIONS - Implement Firm best practices to support client matters and projects throughout the litigation lifecycle including but not limited to case organization and general file maintenance, case rooms and all records, reconcile court dockets against database materials, maintain court filings and other documents, prepare files, labels and indices, maintain and update information for notebooks/binders/ebinders, and retrieve and re-file documents.
- Partner with case teams and other colleagues to address client needs which can include research projects, fact development and timelines.
- Maintain document and information databases including objective coding of documents, indexing of data, sorting and searching within databases, redactions and document retrieval.
- Assist with court filings, including assembling motion papers, compiling case pulls and exhibits, branding exhibits, preparing service distribution and generally assisting, as needed, with filing and service requirements.
- Assist with trial preparation including compiling trial exhibits for notebooks and binders, assembling fact and expert witness materials, and quality checking work product reproductions.
- Participate in both onsite and offsite trials, implement trial logistics protocols, coordinate court deliveries, arrange courtroom set-ups, organize war rooms, maintain supply inventories, assist with daily logistics as needed such as catering, track courtroom time, manage courtroom break out room, quality control duplicating and other reproduction projects, liaison with clients and witnesses for escort to/from court, and perform other related trial support tasks as required.
- Facilitate or help with translations.
- Respond in a timely manner to all requests via e-mail, Teams chat or telephone and effectively collaborate with all members of the Firm equally and professionally.
- Notify ~Support when there is no billable work and volunteer to help others.
- Enter time on a weekly and month-end basis into the iTimekeep (billing) system.
- Complete and submit payroll documentation within one day after the close of the relevant time period.

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS- A.A. degree or higher from an accredited college or university with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Work towards the completion of either a college undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university, and/or certification from a paralegal program is preferred.
- 2+ years of relevant experience in a law firm or equivalent environment required.
- Ability to be available, as needed, to work extended hours, nights and weekends including travel for extended periods of time.
- Fluency in a foreign language preferred but not required.
- Strong interest in pursuing a future legal career preferred.
- Ability to exhibit initiative in seeking work and managing workload, consistently produce high quality work product, regularly check for errors and make corrections as necessary, take ownership of projects and complete assignments in a timely fashion.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate clearly and effectively, direct work flow, and interact with others in a professional manner.
