Job Details Job Location : 120 Schermerhorn Street, Brooklyn, NY, 11201 - Brooklyn, NY Position Type : Full Time Education Level : Associate Degree Salary Range : $34.02 - $34.02 Hourly Travel Percentage : None Job Category : Nonprofit - Social Services Vocational Counselor/ Case Manager EAC Network, a not-for-profit social service agency that empowers, assists, and cares for 62,888 people in need through 100 programs across Long Island and NYC, seeks a Vocational Counselor/ Case Manager to work full time for the Brooklyn Criminal Treatment Courts Case Management & Recovery Support Services program. The Vocational Counselor/ Case Manager position is a non-exempt position paying $34.02 per hour, Monday and Tuesday 9AM- 5PM. The office is located in Brookyn, NY. Primary Purpose of Job: The Vocational Counselor/ Case Manager is responsible for providing counseling, vocational assistance, job development, job placement, clinical assessment and case management to participants of Brooklyn Misdemeanor Criminal Court. Principal Duties & Responsibilities: Conduct clinical and vocational assessments to be presented to the Court. Provide on-going counseling to develop vocational and educational plans based on education, employment background, expressed interest and career exploration activities. Provide job placement services to clients meeting outcome objectives. Conduct follow-up counseling sessions to review progress toward established goals. Administer, score and interpret aptitude, interest and work sample tests when appropriate. Function as agency liaison with vocational agencies such as ACCES/VR, NADAP, etc. Support the client in compliance with treatment, including follow up calls to the client and treatment providers and accompanying client to an intake, etc. while adhering to deadlines. Maintain and update client notes after each interaction with client. Participate in case conferences, team meetings, in-service workshops and seminars. Schedule and conduct GPRA assessments to ensure program goals are met. Conduct facility visits if needed. Conduct evidenced based interventions (interactive journaling, trauma informed care, Ready, Set, Work!) Prepare required forms and keep statistics on client contacts, referrals, job activities, etc. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required: Bachelor's Degree in social services, psychology, criminal justice or related field required. CASAC or other qualified healthcare credential preferred. Must have experience in vocational services and familiarity with New York workforce resources. Experience working with the criminal justice and/or substance abusing population in the vocational area and familiar with borough workforce resources. Excellent communication skills, both oral and writing. Must be proficient in computer applications or other automated systems such as spreadsheets, Microsoft Office applications, calendar, and email and/or database software necessary to perform work assignments.
